Nokia Lumia 1020 review
Nokia has hinted that the Lumia 1020 will be available in the UK from Thursday.
The company made the announcement via its Twitter page. It’s cryptic tweet said “#Lumia1020 + UK = this Thursday”. It refused to clarify whether it mean the phone will be available from Thursday, or whether it will be releasing more details then.

Nokia’s Lumia 1020 smartphone’s standout feature is one of the most powerful cameras. The 41 megapixel is double the quality of the recently announced Sony Xperia Z1.
The PureView camera also comes with optical image stabilisation and a Xenon flash.
It features a 4.5-inch WXGA AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. The Lumia 1020 is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and has 32GB of internal storage.
Despite critical acclaim, the phone struggled following its launch in the US.
Writing in a research note, Baird Research analyst William Power said that in his research he found that praise for the phone was high, but that consumers weren’t biting.
“Last week, we visited and contacted AT&T stores to gauge early sales of the Nokia Lumia 1020,” he wrote.
“Reps we spoke with were nearly unanimously positive about the device’s hardware, especially with the performance of the 41-megapixel camera.
"In contrast, those same reps were quick to point out that early sales were modest at best.”
Power said that the evidence suggested that the phone’s price ($300 in the US) had something to do with the lack of demand.
Nokia hasn’t announced an official UK price for the handset. The company said on its Twitter page that it will release more details on Thursday.
