Nvidia unveils Tegra Note tablet

Nvidia has officially announced the Android-powered Tegra Note tablet, which the chip developer says carries the suggested retail price of £179.99

Nvidia has shown off the new Tegra Note, which the chip-maker claims is the world's fastest 7-inch tablet. Originally demoed back in June as the Tegra Tab at Computex, the Tegra Note uses a Tegra 4 chipset with a 72-core GeForce GPU in a quad-core Cortex A15 CPU. The Tegra Not has 16 GB on board storage but users can expand storage up to 32 GB via the tablet's microSD card slot. The tablet also has 10 hours of battery life. The Tegra Note has a 7-inch HD LCD screen with a 1280x800 IPS display, with a 5 MP on the back and a VGA webcam facing front. The tablet also comes packaged with Stylus with apps for both chisel and brush stroke note taking. The Tegra Note will ship with TegraZone gaming and the latest version of Android. Nvidia says the device will receive Over-The-Air updates when needed. Nvidia won't be releasing the Tegra Note to market itself, saying it will be released by its partners.  The Tegra Note enters a rather crowded market and whether it can compete with tablets such the iPad 4 and Surface Pro has yet to be revealed. Incidentally, both of those tablets have been shortlisted for Tablet of the Year for the 2013 T3 Gadget Awards presented by Ford SYNC.
